Neutral density (ND) filters are sometimes called light-reducing filters. It can be applied in specific conditions to adjust the brightness when taking pictures. In the LCD (liquid crystal display) industry, ND filters are used to reduce panel brightness, making it possible to inspect the display’s surface moire and defective dots under different light conditions.
ND filters are also used in various FPD (flat panel display) testing. However, ND filter does not precisely indicate the filter effect with transmittance, please use ND-LCD filter which provides more accurate transmittance for LCD inspection.
